Fox Den

A new kid on the Baltic wine & drinks’ scene – Tallinn’s Fox Den wine bar – is part of a recently opened Bombay Club, a luxurious & ambitious project in the heart of Estonia’s capital, offering gaming, cocktailing, fine-dining and fine-wine-ing in what seems to be a tastefully re-designed 15th century setting. The opening page of Fox Den’s wine list sets the bar high, inviting you to “an uparalleled experience that journeys through time” promising “connoisseur’s paradise”. Does the actual wine list live up to these promises? Oh, yes, dear friends, you’re in for some serious star treatment here!

The by-the-glass is as good as it gets, and actually contains stuff you’d really love to sip & enjoy by the glass. The Champagne section? Possibly the best we’ve seen in the Baltics. Burgundy? Never ending fun for all you, Dauvissat & Raveneau fans, plus inviting mature listings you’d be hard-pressed to find even in big markets… How about New World? Again, it’s surprisingly goooood! Rare & mature bottlings of Australia, New Zealand, South-Africa, the U.S.,even China (there’s a vertical of LVMH’s Ao Yun here!) and pretty much every other corner of the N.W.! Kudos to Karoline Reinhold, Bart Dufour, and everyone at Fox Den for such a serious devotion and (let’s be frank here) money invested to get this amazing cellar going. A new bright star on the Baltic Wine & Drinks scene is born!

Our choice: How about something very rarely seen on our Baltic shore? A bottle of Australia’s “montrachet” - 2021 Giaconda Estate Vineyard Chardonnay Beechworth?
