Lee Restaurant

For those of you familiar with Tallinn’s foodie scene, Lee restaurant is the new Leib – in other words Leib, the good-old top-notch gourmet and wine lovers’ destination in the Old Town of Estonia’s capital, has been renamed as Lee. You shouldn’t worry, however. It’s the exact same location, that same philosophy of combining great terroir-driven beverages with Hiro Takeda’s excellent food, and that same tour-de-force team including Estonia’s hospitality stars Kristjan Peäske and Janno Lepik behind the venue. Lee’s wine & beverages list is as inviting as before – very smartly selected and well designed, it is not particularly long and does not try to dazzle you with all the super-famous wine names (although that rare bottle of 1989 Chateau Margaux is still on the list), but rather shares a very sharp insider’s view of what’s trending in the wine world at the moment. And, don’t miss Lee’s excellent Estonian wine collection – who knew they could produce decent wines in Estonia?

Lee’s suggestion: we like the idea that no guest is the same and we should always ask our guests before sharing our opinion. Having that said, we propose wines and drinks that carry a story – something like Smoke & Mirrors Cocktail (10yo Laphroig, 30YO Palo Cortado, Campari), Champagne Dhondt-Grellet Les Terres Fines, or maybe a bottle of COS Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico 2017?

Our choice: How about South Africa’s brightest star at full maturity? Let’s go for 2012 Sadie Family Columella at 140€ a bottle!
